About Northwest MRI
About the company, Northwest MRI was established in 2008. We were a first opinion practice with an MRI scanner that was under-utilised. We used the MRI for our own patients but opened up the service for vets surrounding us in 2008. This service was an outpatient service and became even more popular once we started to work with teleradiologists. Now all of our scans get a full diagnostic imaging report from a European specialist. This gives our referring vets the confidence and quality in the diagnostic imaging that is undertaken.
In 2014 this advanced imaging service became so good that the RCVS granted us referral status. We have recruited the finest team of vets and nurses to ensure the best veterinary care. Richard Weston BMVS MRCVS is our clinical director and heads the team with over 40 year’s experience, Chavdar Chernev DVM MRCVS is due to finish his certificate in diagnostic imaging and Adam Kluczny MRCVS Cert(SAS) has a general practitioner certificate in small animal surgery which enables us to deal with all surgeries if they are needed after imaging.
Lisa Watts DVM MRCVS takes control of post-operative care of patients that require to stay overnight. Some of the advantages of using our service is that we provide outpatient and referral service, waiting times are maximum 24 hours, we have fixed price scanning which ensures that our referring vets and their clients know exactly how much the price will be before they even send the patient, this is extremely popular as it is already a worrying time for the owners and finances should be less of a problem. We also provide an ambulance service that picks patients up for my referring vets and also drop some off, this service is available for all over the UK and we find most of our customers find it more convenient than taking a day off work and bringing the patient to us directly.
Northwest Mri became so popular in October 2017 so we added a CT scanner. A CT scan has many more applications than MRI and has proven even more popular than our MRI scanner. On most days we do twice as many CT’s as we do MRI scans, whilst still providing our core service to our referring vets and patients including fixed price CT scans.
In 2019 we added a surgery referral service under the Northwest MRI & CT name providing all the same benefits that our imaging service provides. This means that we can operate straight from imaging and save the client having to go to other vets at other times. For more information on this service you can visit out surgery referral page here.
